Evil of Dracula
DIRECTOR: MICHIO YAMAMOTO
CAST: TOSHIO KUROSAWA, MARIKO MOCHIZUKI, KUNIE TANAKA
Yamamoto pulled out all the stops for the capper of his trilogy, producing a film more violent and disturbingly sexual than either of its predecessors dared, taking full advantage of newly-eased censorship. When Toshio Kurosawa comes to a rural girls’ school to take a teaching job, his first clue that something is amiss comes when he discovers that his new principal’s wife has just died—and the grieving widower is keeping her coffin in his basement. It only gets curiouser and curiouser from here, with disappearing students, dreamlike visions, and voices in the night making for a surreal and troubling journey.
